Description
For my capstone thesis film, I used stop-motion animation to tell the story of Bibi Sahiba, a Sufi saint in Kabul in the 1800s. While this medium is usually associated with humorous movies like Shaun the Sheep, and Mary and Max, I employ it to combine two aesthetic strategies that are normally seen as opposites: the so-called alienation effect by Brecht, and the concept of catharsis by Aristotle.
